The Sovrin Alliance helps companies and organizations master decentralized identity through technical trainings, consultation, and mentorship

Provo, UT, Nov. 18, 2019—The Sovrin Foundation, an international nonprofit that supports the governance of the Sovrin Network, is pleased to announce the addition of 10 new members to the Sovrin Alliance. This community is designed to nurture self-sovereign identity (SSI) by giving members access to the kind of business and technical resources they need to help get their projects up and running.

“We are grateful to see organizations of all sizes and industries support the Sovrin Foundation and its mission by becoming members of the Sovrin Alliance”, says Heather Dahl, Executive Director & CEO of the Sovrin Foundation. “We ask anyone that develops on the Sovrin Network, works to promote the global adoption of SSI, or believes that digital identity should be available to all, to join the Sovrin Alliance and build that future with us.”

Desert Financial Credit Union and CULedger upgraded their Alliance membership to the Innovator and Trailblazer tiers, respectively. The latest companies to join CULedger at the Trailblazer tier are Jumio and Medici Ventures. The latest companies to join at the Advocate level are Absa Group Limited, Anonyome Labs, Certizen, DIDx, HearRo, InfoCert, Innoventia, and RIDDLE&CODE.

Alliance members have access to mentors, consultation, workshops, webinars, and other educational material that help organizations start building their identity products. They also are given marketing support and one-on-one introductions to community members for potential collaboration opportunities.

The Sovrin Foundation was established so the Sovrin Network, the world’s first public utility for digital identity, would not be owned or operated by one-single vendor, enterprise, or industry. To ensure the success and strength of the Sovrin Network, the Sovrin Foundation administers the network’s governance framework; organizes, leads, and participates in committees, task forces, and working groups related to the governance and development of the network; evangelizes for SSI throughout the world through its marketing and educational efforts; and keeps the network running by helping to maintain the developer community that supports the network.

“Desert Financial Credit Union is proud to be an Alliance member and support the essential work the Sovrin Foundation does in order to strengthen the Sovrin and self-sovereign identity community,” says Ron Amstutz, Executive Vice President of Desert Financial Credit Union. “Our Alliance membership allows us to have increased interaction with the Sovrin Foundation technical staff and receive the support needed to be successful as we deploy our SSI solutions.”

The success of the Sovrin Network relies on the donations of Alliance members. To donate to the Sovrin Foundation and join the Sovrin Alliance, visit https://sovrin.org/join-the-sovrin-alliance/ or contact anna@sovrin.org.
