2018 Yearly Report—Moving Forward

February 18, 2019

Dear Sovrin Community,

I’m delighted to share with you the Sovrin Foundation 2018 annual report showcasing the fantastic growth and stability we saw last year. To date, the Sovrin Foundation has approved over 70 Stewards and welcomed contributions from over 250 unique contributors.

Some of the highlights of the report include:

  • Upgrading the Sovrin Network with key features
  • Contributions to the newly-launched Hyperledger Ursa project
  • Preparations to financial plan for future growth
  • Completion of the second version of the Governance Framework
  • Growth and outreach by the I4A Council
  • Overhaul of Sovrin Foundation marketing efforts and public relations

Of course, we cannot stop here. The Sovrin Foundation must continue to provide the operational support the Sovrin community has come to rely on. We cannot stop encouraging, educating, supporting, and advocating for the growing SSI community.

This is why I want to introduce you to the Sovrin Alliance. Its mission is to expand the SSI community by providing everything that anyone interested in decentralized identity could possibly need to start making SSI a reality. Donations to the Sovrin Alliance enable the Sovrin Foundation to continue providing the critical technical education, support, and networking opportunities for those building SSI solutions.

We can see from the success of the Sovrin Foundation in the past year that self-sovereign identity has the potential to transform the future of the internet in ways that benefit all. I urge you to consider becoming a Sovrin Foundation supporter and join the Sovrin Alliance today.

Thank you,

Heather Dahl
